About SEVA GRREAT
Southeastern Virginia Golden Retriever Rescue, Education, and Training, Inc. is a volunteer-staffed, nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to "finding homes for homeless goldens" since 1990. To date, nearly 2000 Golden Retrievers and mixes have been rescued and placed in loving forever homes. Our dogs come from a variety of places such as animal shelters, SPCAs, and homes where owners either no longer want their dog or, due to circumstances, can no longer keep their dog. Many of our rescued goldens come to SEVA GRREAT with major health issues, requiring significant veterinary care and medical expense prior to adoption.
Serving Central and Eastern Virginia, SEVA GRREAT is successful due to the tremendous amount of time given by our volunteers, generous donations received from Golden Retriever and animal lovers, and monies received from fund raising events and adoption fees. By the time an average rescued dog enters its adoptive home, it will have been supported by at least 10-12 volunteers and will have cost nearly $1000 for medical expenses.
At any given time, SEVA GRREAT has many dogs in our care that are not yet available for adoption. We need your ongoing support to help dogs like Sadie, recovering from surgery to repair her hip after being hit by a car. And Shadow will soon have ACL surgery, as well as total hip replacements to help him continue living an active and pain-free life.
This year, SEVA GRREAT is thrilled to be one of only 11 organizations so far in the animal category, and the only breed specific nonprofit, giving us a GRREAT opportunity to attract donors for our rescue!
Our goal is to raise $5000 in donations, and to compete for other bonus prizes!! So watch your email and the SEVA GRREAT Facebook page as the date gets closer. We will be counting on you to ask family and friends to make a minimum donation of $10.00 to help our Goldens!
