More than a year after the CDC implemented its suspension on dogs entering the US from “high-risk” rabies countries, we’re happy to say that we’re back in action. Your generosity helped us support our rescue partners and care for the dogs during the ban, and now it’s time to bring them over! While the overall ban is technically still in effect through January 2023, there are opportunities for rescues to help but with strict requirements and advanced planning required. Unfortunately, that also means increased expenses, but we know our goldens are worth every penny.
We are collaborating with other rescues to help as many goldens as we can, but the bottom line is that is that our costs will be much higher than before.
• Increased expenses for required rabies titers
• Increased expenses for boarding/exam by a CDC approved veterinarian on entry ($500/dog)
• Coverage for flight volunteer airline ticket
While the costs may seem daunting, we have an anonymous donor who will start by matching the first $5000 in donations received for our international efforts! Donations of any size are greatly appreciated, and the impact will be doubled with this generous match.
