Mitzi is a beautiful 7-year-old lab/golden mix with a kind, gentle nature and a calm presence. She weighs 62 pounds and is the definition of an easygoing companion. Mitzi came to rescue through no fault of her own after her owner developed dementia and could no longer care for her. She is now looking for a loving forever home where she can settle in and feel secure again.
Why Mitzi Is Special: Mitzi has a low to moderate activity level, making her a great fit for a relaxed household. She enjoys napping, spending time outside, lounging on the deck in the sun, and going for daily walks. She does well in the car, loves neighborhood strolls, and seeks out affection, happily leaning in for pets and attention. She is spayed and house ready.
Dogs: Mitzi is friendly with other dogs and has done well living with her golden foster sibling. She would be happy either as the only dog or with a calm canine companion.
Cats: Mitzi would do best in a cat-savvy or cat-free home. She can coexist peacefully with cats but prefers that they keep their distance.
Children: Mitzi is best suited for a home with older children or no children, as she can be nervous around young kids.
Home Requirements: A secure, physical fence is required. Mitzi is comfortable being left alone for up to eight hours and is able to manage stairs without issue.
Health and Training: Mitzi has mild skin allergies that are easily managed with regular baths and ear cleanings, which she tolerates well. She does not require medication. She knows her name, can sit on command, and walks nicely on a leash with gentle guidance.
The Ideal Home: Mitzi is looking for a calm, loving home where she can enjoy a predictable routine, peaceful naps, daily walks, and plenty of affection. She would make a wonderful companion for someone seeking a loyal, gentle dog to share their days with.
