Marley is an adorable 4-year-old male who thankfully doesn’t realize there is anything “wrong”. He has severe subaortic stenosis (SAS), a heart defect that causes the heart to pump abnormally hard. This can damage the heart muscle and shorten his life expectancy, but we will do everything we can to help Marley live a long and happy life. He takes a medication called atenolol and is even participating in a study at NC State University Vet School for dogs with SAS. Marley is a happy-go-lucky guy with that typical golden personality.
