PARADE UPDATE — PLEASE READ!
We feel uncomfortable encouraging our friends to get together with their dogs at the same time as we are reporting on the new respiratory virus that is infecting dogs around the country. Therefore, we are not going to march in the Yorktown Toyland Parade under the banner of SEVA GRREAT. We have spoken with the sponsor of the parade in Yorktown, and they see no reason to withdraw their invitation to include dogs in the parade so you can certainly choose to still go if that is your desire. We know it is a fun event for many of you and the responsibility of your dogs’ care falls on you.

VIRUS UPDATE: We do not know of any incidences of the virus in our area, but it is hard to diagnose and mimics kennel cough and dog influenza. It is important for your dogs’ vaccinations to be up to date. This is an outside activity, but if your dog is not feeling well, PLEASE keep him/her at home. If your dog experiences any symptoms after your participation in any dog gathering, PLEASE take them to a vet ASAP as dogs with this virus have been known to go downhill rapidly.  DO NOT let your dog share water bowls. Sharing water bowls can spread the virus quickly.
